Home away from home

I've always not relished the thought of staying in hostels.
To me, the idea of sharing rooms and bathrooms with strangers isn't exactly appealing.

So for this trip, I decided to let SY book all our accommodation.
I will just go along with what she picks.
The only request is that I want to have our own private room.
Not too demanding eh?

And it goes in line with what I've learnt - if you aren't uncomfortable, you aren't growing!
:)

So, she went ahead and booked two backpacker hostels.
One in Tainan, and one in Taipei.

And I'm very glad I let her do it.
(Ok I'll admit, part of the reason was that I was too lazy to book)

My stay at Bike Tainan Hostel has gotta be my most enjoyable stay abroad. Ever.

It's small, yet comfortable.
Distant, yet close to the heart.
The winter weather was cold, yet everything here kept me warm.
Kate, my host, is ever so helpful and friendly!

I met awesome people from different countries, and added a couple on Facebook.
(Yes I'm back)

We cycled around Tainan in the chilly weather, and beside all the masked musketeers on bikes!
Though my face is now peeling from the unfeeling winter wind, it's worth it!

We had fantastic street food, fruits, and all kinds of tea and milk.
I particularly enjoyed the early morning out in the courtyard, sipping on coffee and chatting with everyone.

I'm glad I did this.
;)
