It's like whenever you see a familiar face during CNY, its always the same few wishes...
''Happy New Year!"
"新年快乐！"
"恭喜发财！"
Which one actually applies more? I think for different people, we should offer different greetings. Wealth related ones for people working, Happiness for emo people, Health for old people, etc.
I met a neighbour in the lift earlier and we exchanged the customary well wishes. Before we could finish our sentence, he cut us short by saying there's no point in wishing him 恭喜发财.
An instance of someone who thinks like me. Interesting.
