Familiarity breeds contempt, ennui..

Came across this article in the newspaper the other day. It featured Bhutan, and its very own Gross National Happiness (GNH) philosophy.

According to Wikipedia, Gross National Happiness (GNH) is an attempt to define quality of life in more holistic and psychological terms than Gross National Product.

Bhutan has constantly been voted one of the happiest countries in the world, but its also one of the poorest.

So what constitutes happiness? Ignorance?

To the guy who does not know that there's a better girl out there, he would be happy with his current one. To the lady who does not know that there are actually LV bags, she would be happy with her Pierre Cardin.

Sometimes really, the less you know, the more it is. It's ironic that when we do have everything, we go in pursuit of the simpler pleasures in life.
