And yes, inclusive of all those senseless forwarded emails I know many people engage in to derive some leisure at work.
Lately, I've been receiving and sending close to 40 emails respectively, everyday.
No wonder studies have shown that clearing email clutter is the most time-consuming thing to do at work!

I usually get 700 on monday, then 200 for Tues and 100 plus on wed - fri.. and ya including all spams/junk mails.. clearing nonstop.

If there's smth I really wanna get to, I'd do it first thing in the morning. Once I start clearing my emails, there's non stop!
